Pork Tenderloin With Mustard Glaze

Pork Tenderloin With Mustard Glaze

This pork tenderloin recipe is easy to make, and we love the mustard glaze. You can marinate the meat the night before, then put it on the grill at supper time.

We first had this recipe back in May 2009, and have enjoyed it many times since then.

Pork Tenderloin With Mustard Glaze

Prep: 10 minutes   Marinate: 1 to 24 hrs    Cook: 25 minutes

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp liquid honey
  • 1 tbsp grainy mustard
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • dash of salt and pepper
  • 1 pork tenderloin (about 1 pound)

Optional: Make another batch of the glaze, to use near the end of the cooking time

Directions

Preparation Steps

  1. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the honey, mustard, vinegar, oil, garlic, salt and pepper.
  2. Add pork, and seal bag, squeezing out all the air.
  3. Refrigerate for 1 to 24 hours, turning the bag once.

Cooking Steps

  1. At supper time, heat the outdoor grill to medium high
  2. Remove the pork from the marinade, and discard the marinade
  3. Lightly grease the grill, and put the pork tenderloin over the medium heat
  4. Close grill lid and cook the pork, turning it occasionally
    • Optional: After 15 minutes, brush the meat with the second batch of marinade, for extra flavour
  5. Cook for 18-20 minutes, until its internal temperature reaches 145°F, with just a hint of pink remaining.
  6. Transfer the meat to a cutting board
  7. Cover it with a tent of foil, and let it stand for 5 minutes.
  8. Cut the tenderloin into 1/2-inch slices and serve.

In the photo below, you can see the pork tenderloin, the first time we tried this recipe, in May 2009.

  • There were a couple of crispy spots on the outside, but it tasted great, and the mustard glaze was delicious
  • After that attempt, I revised the recipe slightly, so the extra marinade is added near the end of the cooking time.
  • That solved the “crispy” problem!

The side dishes, rice and yellow beans, were probably delicious too, but they look rather dreary!

This is what suppers looked like before Instagram started, in October 2010. After that, people tried to make their meals look a bit prettier, to post photos on Instagram.
