There’s a cold, cloudy, wintery week of weather ahead, with the sun peeking out a couple of times, if we’re lucky.
The new recipe is Quick Garlic-Lime Marinated Pork Chops, and we’ll have that on Tuesday. It gets marinated for 20 minutes, then only takes 10 minutes to cook.

Food Celebration Days
Almost every day of the year has a food celebration that we can enjoy, or ignore! Here are a few of the food days for the upcoming week, with recipe ideas for you.
Sunday Jan 25 – Burns Night
Burns Night is an annual event to celebrate the life and legacy of Scotland’s National Bard, Robert Burns, who born Jan 25 1759. The traditional meal is haggis, served with mashed potatoes (tatties) and mashed swede turnip (neeps). You can learn more about Burns Night on Scotland’s official website.
And there are recipes on the BBC website:
Thursday Jan 29 – Corn Chip Day
It’s not clear when or how corn chip day got started, but it sounds like fun! Corn chips are similar to tortilla chips, but corn chips are sturdier, and they have a stronger corn flavour.
Here’s a quick and easy recipe, if you’d like to join in the corn chip fun:
Saturday Jan 31 – Eat Brussels Sprouts Day
This is another day that nobody seems clear on how it got started. But, if you like Brussels sprouts, or if you’ve never tried them, here are a couple of recipes for you to try.
