Makes 16 squares, about 100 calories each.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup whole wheat flout
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Coat the bottom of an 8″ square baking pan with cooking spray.
- In medium bowl, combine the 5 dry ingredients.
- In a smaller bowl, combine whisk together the egg, oil, honey and vanilla.
- Stir wet mixture into dry mixture, and stir just until combined.
- Add the chocolate chips, and stir just until combined (batter will be thick)
- Scrape the batter into the 8″ square baking dish, and spread evenly.
- Bake in centre of oven, at 350°F, for about 20 minutes, until a cake tester in the centre comes out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes, then cut into 16 squares.
