For this week’s menu, I chose old favourites from our meal plan, and included one new recipe – Meatballs with Sweet and Sour Sauce.

Also, I put beef tenderloin on the menu for Saturday’s supper, and it’s been a full year since we last had that! Hopefully, Keith remembers how to grill that, and the best place to buy it!

Here is our plan for the week starting Sunday, Aug 31, 2025. There are links for some recipes, and others are made “freestyle”.
Sunday — Meatballs with Sweet and Sour Sauce

Monday — Sheet-Pan Chicken Thighs with Veg & Gnocchi
TIP: diff veg, no salt
Tuesday — Carrot Apple Ginger Soup
TIP: make on stove top
Wednesday — Sheet Pan Lamb Meatballs
Thursday — Sheet Pan Lemon Garlic Salmon
Friday — Turkey Schnitzel
Saturday — Beef Tenderloin

How It Actually Went
Here’s what we actually had this week. We started and ended the week as planned, but it was chaotic on the days in between. Some weeks are like that though!
Sunday — Meatballs with Sweet and Sour Sauce
- This meal went as planned. I put about 8 ounces of frozen meatballs into our smallest slow cooker, with 1/2 cup of water, to keep them from sticking. They cooked on high for 30 minutes, then on low for 3 hours. I stirred in a jar of sweet and sour sauce, and left them on low for another 30 minutes, stirring them after 15 minutes.

Monday — Sheet Pan Lemon Garlic Salmon
- Keith bought the salmon on Sunday, so we had it for supper on Monday, instead of freezing it until Thursday
Tuesday – Burgers (A&W)
- I thought Keith had taken chicken thighs out of the freezer, but he hadn’t. He thought I was making the carrot soup, but we didn’t have enough carrots. It was like the plot for a bad sitcom! Anyway, I suggested A&W burgers, and Keith dashed out the door to get some, before I changed my mind. Fast food is a rare treat these days!
Wednesday — Sheet-Pan Chicken Thighs with Veg & Gnocchi
- The chicken wings actually came out of the freezer, and we enjoyed them on Wednesday, instead of Monday.
Thursday — Carrot Apple Ginger Soup
- Delayed from Tuesday, we finally had the carrot apple ginger soup on Thursday.
Friday — Sheet Pan Hot Italian Meatballs
- There weren’t any lamb meatballs in the freezer, so the Wednesday lamb meatballs turned into Friday hot Italian meatballs.
Saturday — Beef Tenderloin
- Keith bought the beef tenderloin on Friday, and grilled it for our Saturday supper. It’s always delicious!
