One day, way back in January 2012, we needed a break from our regular meals. While flipping through a Real Simple magazine, I found this recipe for Chicken Tikka Masala, and Keith agreed to make it. Continue reading “Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala”

Banana Streusel Muffins
I’ve been making these banana streusel muffins since 2008, when my Mom gave me her recipe.
The muffins are good for breakfast, or afternoon snack, or for a sweet ending to your supper. Use a plate though — they’re very crumbly!
Slow Cooker Osso Buco
One of our favourite winter meals is Veal Osso Buco. It simmers all day in the slow cooker, and fills the house with a wonderful aroma. It’s a delicious and filling meal, with a lovely tomato sauce. Continue reading “Slow Cooker Osso Buco”
Chicken Thighs With Honey Lemon Rice
The first time I made this recipe was in July 2010, and we’ve enjoyed it many times since then.

Weekly Meal Plan 2025-08-09
We’re in another heat wave, with temperatures in the low 30s, until Tuesday. And if you like hot and rainy day, you’re in luck! That’s the forecast for Monday to Wednesday.
For this week’s menu, I chose old favourites from our meal plan, and with no new recipes. We tried two new recipes last week, so we need a rest this week! Continue reading “Weekly Meal Plan 2025-08-09”

Zucchini Banana Bread
In the summer of 2008, we gardened enthusiastically, with tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, sorrel, and zucchini, plus lots of flowers.
It was our first (and last) time growing zucchini, which produced way more than we could eat!
One-Pot Chinese Beef and Rice
This one-pot recipe is adapted from one in the Betty Crocker’s New Dinner for Two Cook Book, that I got when we were first married, long ago.
It’s quick and easy to make, and a great way to use leftover beef. It would work well with cooked pork or chicken too.
Weekly Meal Plan 2025-08-02
It’s a long weekend, here in Mississauga, and the weather forecast looks great! Temperatures will be in the high 20s, with sunshine every day!
For this week’s menu, I chose old favourites from our meal plan, and included two new recipes. We’ll try Chinese-Inspired Corn Soup on Tuesday, after the long weekend.
The other new recipe is Country Seasoned Chicken Breast with Butter Sauce, and we can try that on Friday.
